Take a look at this Honda Civic?

Take it to a mechanic and have him take a good hard look at it. Just because its all shiny and pretty looking doesn't mean a thing. Carfax it. I guarantee that car has been beat on, those roads in Manhattan suck. Plus it being a hybrid with high miles would have me concerned. That car is at the age where things start to break and you could wind up putting a lot of money in it just to keep it on the road. Just get a regular civic because the MPG isn't that much of a difference.
