Why are non original 6 teams jerseys look so ugly?

Toronto,Detroit,Montreal,Boston,NewYork and Chcago all have the best sweaters in the NHL and always will, why are the expansion teams so ugly some more than others, im talking, Florida,Tampa,Atlanta,Columbus,Islanders… etc
