Why is this girl staring at me but acts very uninterested when i talk to her?

ok i've known this person for like two years and we went out for a while. she broke up with me for some guy in newyork but he never came down to florida to see her. she allways breaks up with him and gets with some other guy. shes not a slut or anything she hasnt even had sex yet shes a good person. she acts cold around me and bored allmost. i stay away from her as much as possible so i dont have to be near her. but shes also my friend and i try to be friends i ask her if she wants to be sha said she does but she doesnt it drives me insane! but she seems to stare at me constantlly and allways being in my peripheral vision. my friends say she still likes me but its impossible because when i do talk to her she just acts very cold toward me not meaning to be rude. when shes with her other friends who are my best friends shes hyper and laughing all the time. but when i try she acts nervous and it makes me think shes scared of me. i still love this girl and she knows it and she told me maybe we could go back out in the futer but that was a while ago. and there are so many douchebags allways trying to get with her and they dont care about her like i do they allways grab her *** and just move all over her. its like they are trying to change her. she says shes uninterested in them but idk. were allmost the same if you will we are the same starsighn (gemini) and when i ignore her she gets close and when she ignores me i get close i just dont know what to do.
