Really need advice... please?

Ok so I been with this man for 5 or 6 yrs now. Love him been thru a lot cheated on him and was cheated on he's older than I by 16 years has 6 kids. Health issues and a list of other things. The past few mos we been having issues and have barely talked now this month. I started talking to this other guy who is my age have lots in common with we even too went to newyork for a weekend. We text daily and talk. but I'm not sure where we stand as far as friends possible boyfriend girlfriend ect ect. I don't want to scare him off by bluntly sayin hey what are we cuz if ya ain't tryin to be with me I might try to work on my other relationship again. Like I really like this guy and think id be happy seein if it works out or not if its gna be serious but if not I don't want to ruin what I had and can work thru but who knows if that'd even work out ya know! Idk I just need some advice please. Anything. Will help
